Venture east off of I-5 and onto the North Cascades highway and you will make your way through to the city of Sedro-Woolley. After almost being named the “town of Bug,” this historical logging town is known as the Gateway to the Cascades as it sits on the western edge of the Cascade Mountains.

With painted murals on building sides and carved cedar statues scattered on the corners of every street, the city of Sedro-Woolley has continued to honor and celebrate its storied roots and history within the logging industry even in present day.

While in town make sure to grab a bite to eat at Hal’s Drive-in or head over to the newly-renovated bowling alley. If you are looking to get outside you can find all sorts of recreational opportunities from fishing on the Skagit River, enjoying the afternoon at Riverfront Park or heading over to Janicki Playfields. And of course don’t forget about our recently completed, state-of-the-art skatepark that is regarded as one of the top parks in the state!

Visitors to the area can also enjoy a variety of events throughout the year as Sedro-Woolley plays host to some incredible happenings including Woodfest, Founder’s Day, Blast from the Past and the Annual LoggerRodeo Celebration that takes place every July.

Holding strong to its historical past and embracing the waves of the future, the city of Sedro-Woolley provides a unique spot for locals and visitors alike. With old-town charm and its welcoming demeanor, the city of Sedro-Woolley is worth experiencing whether for just a quick visit or for a lifetime!
